Event 1: Strategic Business Hackathon
At the heart of the competition lies this foundational challenge. Teams dive deep into a realistic business dilemma presented through an intricate scenario unveiled three months ahead of each local round. This allows for in-depth research and collaborative ideation to formulate robust, innovative solutions.
One week before the event, teams submit a concise 3-page report outlining their proposed startup or business solution. On the day, this culminates in a dynamic pitch presentation, followed by a rigorous Q&A session with a panel of industry-leading experts.
In this intellectually charged segment, teams are thrust into an impromptu debate format that spotlights pivotal business choices and policy frameworks. Drawing from pressing topics in business ethics, corporate governance, and broader strategic ramifications, participants must swiftly construct and deliver cogent arguments.
The event unfolds across two engaging one-hour rounds, where teams alternate between affirmative and opposing stances to foster balanced perspectives and sharpen dialectical skills.
This adrenaline-pumping finale thrusts teams into a high-velocity challenge. They are allotted a mere two hours to unpack an unforeseen business scenario, analyze its core issues, and devise a practical solution before delivering a succinct, compelling pitch.
Designed to mirror the urgency of emergent business disruptions, it hones participants' adaptability and inventive thinking. After presentations, an interactive Q&A phase encourages peer-to-peer critique and knowledge exchange.
The hackathon unfolds across two to three progressive rounds—Local, Regionals, and a final Global Round—tailored to accommodate varying regional participation levels.
Local and Regional Rounds: Intensive two-day stages held on weekends to minimize interference with weekday studies. They provide a focused arena for teams to showcase their skills in a supportive, localized setting.
Global Round: For top qualifiers, the pinnacle event extends over five action-packed days during the summer break at a selected international location. This grand finale offers unparalleled exposure, cultural exchange, and global networking opportunities.
